Crumbs Privacy Note
Last updated October 2026
Crumbs runs on your computer and keeps what it learns there. There is no account, no tracking, no analytics and no ads.
What stays on your Mac
Your scan results, health score, 30-day history and settings are stored on your computer and nowhere else. Crumbs never uploads anything about your files or how you use your computer.
When Crumbs goes online
Only for three things:
- Checking for updates to Crumbs, your system and your apps.
- Activating your license, once on each computer. This sends your license key, a one-way identifier for that computer, the Crumbs version, and whether it is a Mac or a PC. The identifier is a scrambled code made from the computer's hardware ID. It cannot be turned back into the ID or anything else about your computer, and it is only used to keep one key to three computers.
- Confirming your license, about once a week. This sends only your key, the same one-way identifier and the Crumbs version, so a refunded or cancelled key stops working.
What we keep
For each license we keep the key, the one-way identifiers of the computers it is activated on, and the activation dates. Nothing else.
